Keegan's First Ride

Keegan was very disappointed this day because he was supposed to have had soccer practice but it had rained off and on this day so the soccer fields were closed and practice was cancelled.  Daddy boosted Keegan's spirits by taking him for his first ride on his motorcycle.  Keegan was thrilled!  (Right now, my mom is having a heart attack.  Pray for her, please).

Don't worry, Mom.  They were only gone for a few minutes and went VERY slow.  Obviously, they made it back home safe and sound or I'd have called you.  Immediately.  I promise.

SSSHHH! Nap in Progress!

I've figured out that if Keegan is going to take a nap at all, it's going to be in the bean bags.  While his sister was napping, he got still and quiet and passed right out.  Of course, I couldn't resist taking pictures of my little guy.

Handsome thing, isn't he?!  If only Mommy could nap like this!

Pure Sweetness

This little photo shoot happened purely by accident. I sat down at the computer to answer some emails. My camera happened to be sitting on my desk. I look over and this is what I find....

Happy Monday to you all!

First Day of Spring!

We had gorgeous weather here in Memphis for our first official day of spring. First on our agenda, we attended a Motorcycle Show held at the Agricenter - Mike's idea of a good time. Okay, Keegan enjoyed it as well. But to say we looked a bit out of place in the midst of leather, chaps and bandanas is an understatement. My family and I were strolling around as if we'd just stepped out of a GAP add.

But it was simply too pretty to stay indoors for long so we then headed to the park to let the kids roam a bit. I had recently downloaded a new iPhone photography application and I was anxious to try it out. So my Canon stayed in the 4Runner and my new app put to good use. I am quite impressed. I did not edit these next few photos snapped with my iPhone.

Then Mike hopped on his motorcycle for a ride and the kids and I headed out into the backyard for more outdoor fun. These pics were taken with my Canon but they are straight out of the camera. I did no photo editing simply because I am tired. But here they are.

I thought this one kinda cool - seeing the sand fall from Presley's tiny hand. She absolutely loves the sandbox. I can't wait to get her to the beach this summer!

One of two pair of the sweetest feet EVER.

Aren't the eyelashes on this kid killer? Presley's are thickening up and growing as well.

Our neighbors have a beautiful weeping willow tree and sometimes the branches blow over our fence. This is very intriguing to Presley.

One of my favorite snapshots of the day.

We had a great day and even better, the kids slept like champs! Happy spring!

Spring Soccer 2010

Keegan is thrilled that it's time to play soccer again! The anticipation of his first practice was so great that he could hardly stand himself. Here he is with his coach.

A few things have changed since the fall. Keegan is way more attentive to what's going on around him and he is a little hustler. He tried his best to get that ball, but those little short legs just couldn't keep up with all the long legged girls on his team. That'll change in time, Son.

But he's a great dribbler and gave it his all.

Little sister sat (sort of) on the sidelines watching. She would see Keegan and yell his name. VERY sweet!

Mike and I are very excited to see such a big change in Keegan for this season. Soccer may turn out to be his thing! Looking forward to posting more pics of Keegan's soccer season. Stay tuned!

Our Sunshine!

This little princess loves the sunshine. We usually have sun streaming through our windows in the back of the house in the morning. After breakfast, this is usually where you'll find Presley - next to a window soaking it all up.

She'll bask in it. Here she is rolling around in the floor . She'll lay there as long as the sun is present and she is warm. Funny little thing.

Our 15 Month Old Stinker

Hard to believe, but Presley is 15 months old. I feel like we just brought her home from the hospital. Her favorite things: bananas, broccoli, blueberries, dancing and climbing. Some of these you may have picked up on from previous posts. Her least favorite thing: the pediatrician's office. This tiny little being knew exactly where she was and what she was there for and completely lost control of herself. She was fine in the waiting room but as soon as we approached the exam room, she lost it completely. She kicked, wailed, screamed, cried, flailed - all of the above. She didn't want any part of that exam room or what was to come. And I firmly believe she knew what was coming. Every time the door opened to the room, she would start up again. She is simply too smart for her own good. I basically had to lay on top of her so her pediatrician could examine her. When it came time for the shots, the nurse and I both were laying on top of her. I was so embarrassed. Poor Keegan sat in a chair the whole time, not saying a word. He got the sucker.

We are happy to report that Presley is a healthy little girl weighing in at 23.5 pounds and measuring 31.5 inches long, though I think the length is inaccurate because of her squirming. Either that or she shrank since her last checkup.

Yeah, she's happy. NOW.

A Spring in Our Step

Spring has arrived here in the Memphis area and we're all very happy about that. We've had a few unusually warm days which have made us wonder if we skipped spring and jumped straight into summer. While Presley napped, Keegan and I enjoyed a couple of hours with one another out in the warm sunshine.

This pic is random. Buzz Lightyear fell asleep after a long day playing outside.

Keegan and I played hide-and-seek. He found me!

We built many sandcastles in the sandbox.

We slid down the slide. Yes, WE.

And I snapped some great pictures of my handsome boy.

And Lucy.

We also played catch.

We had some great quality time together and can't wait for the next warm day.

A Keegan Funny

Keegan: Mommy, I'm going to pray to God.

Me: Awesome, Keegan! I'll pray with you.

(assuming the prayer position...)

Keegan: Dear God, would you please send me an ice cream cone? I'm REALLY thirsty!

PURE BLISS!

Mike missed the warm sunshine we enjoyed this day so he brought home a little nighttime fun. And fun it was!
