Let Sleeping Dogs Lie....

We received our first baby gift from our friends, Wiam and Kim Battah.  They sent Presley a hooded towel, washcloth and a couple of burp clothes that are absolutely gorgeous.  They didn't forget about our baby boy, though.  They sent Keegan this stuffed dog, a floor pillow, and Keegan insisted on taking his nap on it.  I snapped this picture for Wiam and Kim.

Zoo Day

Carla and I decided to take advantage of the cooler weather and take Jack and Keegan to the zoo.  I had some really great pictures on this trip.  The weather was cooler and a bit rainy at times and the animals were much more active.  However, my memory card corrupted somewhere along the way and I lost all of my pictures.  I got a few from Carla to at least document the trip.  This was one of my favorites.  Jack and Keegan are watching the sea lion show.  We had a great day!

Keegan's Worm

We went back to the park today since we're still able to enjoy some cooler weather these days.  Keegan found a worm.  For those of you who really know me, you know worms give me the willies.  I'd rather hold a snake in my hands than a worm.  Just one of my many quirks.  I, however, try not to pass this phobia on to my son who loves them so I bite my tongue and take one for the team, though I break out into a cold sweat watching him play with them.  I also have to fight the urge to run for my life when he gets near me with one.

Keegan shares his worm with Jack.  Before the worm play was all over, Keegan killed the worm and we buried it at the playground.  RIP Mr. Worm.

Cooler Weather = Outdoor Fun!

It was only 84 today!  It's never 84 degrees in Memphis in August so we took advantage of the cooler weather and took off to the park with our friends, Carla and Jack.  Carla took this picture and I stole it.  Thanks, Carla!  Keegan and Jack had a great time wandering around outside - especially now that Jack is walking.  So Carla might not have enjoyed it quite as much as she did in the past.  But she was a trooper.  Both boys had popsicle stains on their clothes  and were covered with dirt.  Makes for a great day!

20 Weeks

We're officially at the halfway point of this pregnancy.  Presley Colleen will be here before we know it!  Mike and I are excited to start work on her room this weekend.  Her new bedding arrived yesterday so we're anxious to paint the room and get her crib set up so that we can put her bedding together.  It's just as exciting the second time around as it was with Keegan. Keegan also has new bedding and we're about to order new furniture for his room.  Once both rooms are complete I will definitely post some pictures of each.  Keegan is anxiously awaiting the arrival of his baby sister.  He calls her by name, shares his food and toys with her already, and says he can't wait to hold her.  He asks when she'll be here and I've been telling him that when it gets cold outside she'll be coming home.  He's going to be the best big brother and I can't wait to see the relationship develop between the two of them when they begin to interact with one another.  Truth be known, I think he might be an overprotective big brother in the years to come.  But I bet Presley can hold her own.
