And So It Begins...

I walked into the living room to see this: Presley with her Strawberry Shortcake "bag" over her arm pushing her shopping cart around. Mike says I have created a monster - a shopping monster.

She walked around like this for quite a while. The girly side is definitely coming out in full force.

Our little shopping diva.

Snack Time!

My kids have gotten to be so easy at certain times of the day. Snack time is definitely a favorite time for all involved. Presley usually wakes from her nap and I'll pop a movie in for them to enjoy while they have their afternoon snack. Lounging on the bean bags, Mommy gets a few quiet moments to herself. Movie of choice these days: Toy Story 1 & 2. Presley will almost sit through the whole movie. Both kids are anxiously awaiting Toy Story 3. Mike and I are excited to take them to the movies to see it.

Fun at the Toy Store

Thank goodness for the camera phone. I had no intentions of taking pictures today but after entering the Toy Store (at Keegan's request) I realized how sweet it was to see two kids allowed to be kids in a store. No one cared if they touched things or played with things - within reason, of course. They were still expected to mind their manners and behave. And naturally, they did. They are good kids.

Presley didn't really know what to make of it at first. She kept looking at me expecting me to pick her up and put her back in the cart. Then she got a little comfortable and walked the whole store exploring.

After wearing the kids out at the toy store, I headed to one of my favorite stores to have a little fun, Hobby Lobby. They have all their Easter stuff out so we had to play a little.

Presley refused to take these bunny ears off. She wore them all over the store and cried if they fell off. People kept smiling and saying, "oh, how cute!" like I was making the poor girl wear them all over the store. What they didn't know is that the shrill screams they heard periodically were Presley protesting the removal of the bunny ears.

I just realized iPhone has a video app and I was so happy to discover it. So often, I wish for a video option on my phone after discovering I've left my real camera at home. It's not the greatest, but it at least allows me to capture the moment and share it. I got a little of the kids browsing in the toy store as well as some hot dance moves of Presley dancing at Texas Roadhouse. Enjoy!

Rockin' Out

One of our favorite stores is Best Buy. I would consider our family geeks in the way of electronics. We love them - all of us. Keegan even asks to go to Best Buy on occasion. One of his favorite things is the play the instruments in their new music store section. But he digs rockin' out to Rock Band as well. Of course, he knows none of the songs but he makes them up as he goes. Should have taken some video. Shoulda, coulda, woulda!

A Keegan Random

This pic was taken a while back with my iPhone. I think I was in Hobby Lobby and Keegan was complaining about me taking too long. He said he was tired of walking. So I put him in the cart and he actually fell asleep. Poor kid. Guess I was taking too long. I can't help it. I have a close, personal relationship with Hobby Lobby.

Valentine's Day 2010

We actually celebrated our day a little early. We try to be respectful of the holiday and not go out to eat with 2 small children during the Valentine's Day dinner rush. After our cookies, Keegan made a card for all of us to give to Daddy. Here is his finished product.

Our sweet, handsome boy.

Check out Presley's "cheese" face.

Our princess.

Keegan decided he needed to take a picture or two.

And Presley opening hers.

Yeah, another picture courtesy of Keegan - with my mouth open.

Here's my Pandora bracelet with my new charms. I've added several since my last picture of it. I received 4 for my anniversary and 2 more for Valentine's Day.

Me and my Valentine - courtesy of Keegan. Hope everyone has a day full of love!

Our Little Monkey

Pitiful, right?!

Presley is turning out to be our little climber. We believe she could be part monkey. I have found her standing up in chairs and in the middle of the kids' art table having no idea how she got up there. She has fallen more times than I can count and quite frankly, I'm surprised we've had no ER visits resulting in brain damage as many times as the child has hit her head. Amazingly, this is her first visible mark on her head. Just a small red spot in the picture next to the corner of her eye. It has turned into a bruise now so she finally hit something hard enough to do some minor damage. And no, I have no idea what she hit. But check out the grin on her little face. She lets nothing get her down for long.

Valentine's Day Treats

Another holiday is upon us and so another treat is absolutely necessary - according to Keegan & probably Mike's office seeing as though we always make something for Mike to take to work to share. When I asked Keegan what we should make he immediately said cookies. He is stuck in cookie mode lately. I think he really enjoys the decorating part - the sprinkles and icing.

After baking, we dipped them in melted chocolate - something a little different.

Then we took a tube of pink icing and went crazy with some swirl patterns on top. This was easy for Keegan and I thought the finished product looked a little classy, in my opinion.

The kids eating the goods. The combination of the chocolate and just a little icing was really good. Have a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Basket Full of Joy

I was sitting in the floor playing with the kids. My attention was focused on Keegan for a moment. When I looked over, this is what I saw. Presley had squeezed her little self into this basket and was quite happy and pleased with herself.

A Real Snow

We woke up to find about 3-4 inches of snow on the ground, completely unexpected.

Keegan was thrilled and wanted to get in it right away. Presley, again, slept through the whole thing. But it allowed Keegan and I to spend some time together.

Again, the pine trees made for some excellent photos.

Keegan eating snow.

Our snowman. We did the best we could. Keegan was pretty excited and proud.
