Vacation {Take Three} - Wrightsville Beach, NC Day 1

Next stop on our family vacation was Wrightsville Beach which is just outside of Wilmington, NC.  This is where we spend the majority of our vacation so there are just way too many pictures to post all at once.  So I'm breaking it up a little.

We arrived in Wrightsville Beach late in the evening so it was a little hectic getting the kids fed and set up in our condo.  But we awoke to a gorgeous day on the east coast.  This is the view from our balcony.

And just to our right was the pool.

Keegan is realizing there is a swimming pool.  And it was FREEZING!

After a quick breakfast, we packed up and headed straight for the beach.  The water was freezing but that didn't stop the kids from sticking their toes in.  Presley was more concerned about the temps than Keegan.

Though that first time the cold water hits you, it does sting a little.

Presley had a love/hate relationship with the sand. 

Keegan mostly loved it.  He spent most of the day digging in the sand and building sand castles.  

And he loves to be buried in it.

Presley's favorite thing about the whole trip was the birds.  She is officially obsessed with birds.  Or in her words, "DER!"

But she did do a little digging herself.  She loved the idea of it anyway.  The bright sand toys were too enticing.  

After a long day on the beach, we headed out to dinner at the Fish House which was one of our favorite places during the whole trip.  The food was outstanding!  Many of the restaurants on the river had boat docks for people to just dock, hop out and eat.  Just in front of the docks you usually saw this - oyster beds.

And these next two were too sweet of Presley not to include.  And I love that I actually made it in a picture.  And yes, we do brush her hair.  It was so windy on the coast and she just kept pulling her bows out.

So this is where the pictures stopped because Keegan got pooped on.  And he wasn't happy about it.  Mike had to take him down the street and buy him a new shirt.  It was that bad.  And he had a few choice words for those birds.  Needless to say, he does not share his sister's bird obsession.  Wish I'd gotten some video of him cursing those birds.
