Gulf Shores

So we took our first family vacation to Gulf Shores, AL and had a terrific time. The weather was gorgeous and we really enjoyed taking Keegan to the beach for the first time. I'm only posting a fraction of the pictures I took. I took over 100 pictures in 5 days time. These are just my favorites and there are TONS. They are out of order as usual but at least I got them posted!

This was actually our last night there. I was so happy to actually have made it into a few pictures with my son.

Before we started home, we took Keegan to the zoo. He really loved it but would have loved it even more had it not been so hot. This was the hottest day of the trip. His favorite part was getting to feed the animals. He wanted to feed ALL of the animals - even the tigers and bears. But here he feeds a sweet, docile donkey.

After our nightly strolls on the beach, we'd rinse the sand off of Keegan in the sink.

After going nuts over all the other kids' floats, Daddy ran down the street and bought Keegan this boat. He loved it so much, he actually fell asleep in the boat drifting around in the ocean. This was the best nap he took the whole trip.

After his nap and some lunch, he's ready to take his boat back out in the water.

Keegan and I play in the sand.

He's obviously use to the ocean waves now. He got very brave toward the end of the trip and we had to keep him from diving right in.

My boys enjoying the ocean.

Looking for shells.

We ate at LuLu's - owned by Lucy Buffett, Jimmy Buffett's sister. They had a huge sandbox and toys for the kids to play with while waiting for a table. Keegan loved it.

Taking a rest, getting a little sun.

An evening stroll on the beach. Keegan destroyed someone's sand castle.

Mommy actually made it into a picture!

Our first night in Gulf Shores. Keegan has no idea that there is a huge ocean just to his left.

On our way to the beach for the first time.

Keegan's first time on the beach. He was thrilled to be walking around without restraint.

First time in the ocean. It scared him a little at first because the waves were crashing on the shore and the noise was a little intimidating.

Playing in the largest sandbox he's ever seen!

Here's a short video of Keegan playing in the ocean for the first time.
